Mindfulness and Compassion
Ten Thousand Flowers in Spring
Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn,
a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter.
If your mind isn’t clouded by unnecessary things,
this is the best season of your life.
Wu-Men
Mindfulness and compassion to self and others are at the heart of my therapeutic work and my life in general. I'm currently studying for a Master's in Teaching Mindfulness -Based Courses at the University of Bangor. This is the highest standard of mindfulness teacher training in the UK.
MINDFULNESS
Tara Brach's website www.tarabrach.com contains some wonderful talks and resources on mindfulness. Her FREE online course Mindfulness Daily, created jointly with Jack Kornfield, is a good introduction to the basics of mindfulness and developing a daily practice.
SELF-COMPASSION
For some useful resources on self-compassion by Dr Kristin Neff visit www.self-compassion.org. I particularly recommend the guided practices and self-compassion exercises.
GUIDED PRACTICES
I'm currently studying to become a qualified mindfulness meditation teacher. You can listen to some of my guided practices on Soundcloud.
